De Automotive Campus van het Summa College in Helmond is een broedplaats voor automotive ontwikkeling. Waar in de jaren ’70 Volvo haar Nederlandse ontwikkelafdeling vestigde, is vandaag de Automotive Campus gevestigd. Met 500 niveau-4 studenten op drie opleidingen is de campus the place to be voor innovatie in de auto-industrie. Daar hoort natuurlijk vernieuwing bij! Zo is recentelijk de buitenruimte op campus vernieuwd met duurzame bestrating van MBI.
Herinrichting buitenterrein
In de pauze zijn de studenten van de Automotive Campus vaak buiten te vinden. Het buitenterrein was echter wel aan vernieuwing toe. Het project was zeer inclusief waarbij ook docenten en studenten betrokken waren in de ontwerpfase. Voor de herinrichting had het terrein zwart-witte vlakken wat een finish vlag voorstelde, een mooie representatie van de Automotive Campus. Daarom is besloten dit concept te behouden. De bestrating is wél vernieuwd en daarbij is gekozen voor GeoColor Excellent stenen met een diepzwarte en helder witte kleur voor een mooi contrast. Ook is er een gedeelte hernieuwd met diepzwarte GeoStretto tegels waar studenten kunnen zitten. Vanwege de toevoeging van een pergola kunnen studenten ook bij slecht weer naar buiten.
Duurzame kleuren met GeoSteen®
Bij Automotive Campus is gekozen voor bestrating uit de GeoSteen® lijn. GeoSteen® staat voor een unieke toplaag met natuurlijke granulaten als basis. Hierdoor blijven de kleuren van nature langdurig mooi. Zowel de GeoColor stenen als de GeoStretto tegels die op Automotive Campus zijn verwerkt hebben een dergelijke toplaag. De lange levensduur en kleurechtheid van de stenen zal ervoor zorgen dat de ‘finish vlag’ langdurig mooi zal blijven. Daarnaast hoeft de campus nog weinig om te kijken naar het buitenterrein; GeoSteen® bestrating is namelijk zeer onderhoudsvriendelijk.
