Pavement category 'quiet element paving'
GeoSilent is a noise-reducing concrete paving stone that belongs to pavement category 10 'quiet element paving'. CWegdek is a method for calculating traffic noise and sound pressure levels for residential areas. In 1997, MBI already had this standard with GeoSilent [Report 2002]. In 2012, the standard was adjusted to include the aging percentage. This assumes that the paving is in use for more than 75% of its lifespan. Even with this, this noise-reducing paving meets pavement category 10 for light motor vehicles/passenger cars [Report 2019].
