1. High-quality top layer
The best ceramics
With an emphasis on high-quality ceramics and fine porcelain, we go beyond mere geographical indications. This pursuit of quality encompasses a range of universally recognised values, including craftsmanship, design leadership, innovation and sustainability. At MBI, we have made a conscious decision to work exclusively with leading manufacturers from around the world who hold these values in high regard. This collaboration results in products that not only excel in functional properties, but also boast eye-catching designs.
2. Sustainably produced
Sustainable 10 mm top layer
Unique to GeoCeramica® is the 10 mm ceramic top layer. Less raw material is needed for 10 mm than for 20 mm or 30 mm ceramics. This means that much less raw material needs to be transported by road.
Add to this the fact that thin ceramic tiles need to be heated for much less time to achieve their hardness. This reduces CO₂ emissions by a huge amount.
Last but not least, compared to thicker ceramics, more volume can be transported to The Netherlands in a single container. This also minimises CO₂ emissions from international transport.
Sustainable core concrete
The load-bearing core concrete – the Stabikorn® foundation – is made from a high percentage of renewable and circular raw materials. In addition, we use less packaging material and also contribute to Dutch employment.
Entirely produced using wind energy
MBI has made its production process significantly greener; all our factories now run on solar and wind energy from our own solar roofs and wind turbines.
3. For any surface
High load-bearing capacity, breaking load and stability
GeoCeramica® with a thickness of 40 mm has more than sufficient load-bearing capacity and breaking load for normal use as a patio in front and back gardens. The big advantage is that this garden tile can actually be laid on a finished sand bed. The tiles lie stable in the sand and the integrated spacers protect the tiles from friction and impact with each other. An additional advantage is that this also ensures that they fit together well and have no room to “move”. For a driveway, we recommend a thickness of 60 mm. Driving a car on and off the driveway usually involves turning movements. With a tile that is too thin, the risk of the tiles being pushed away is too great.

4. Very wide choice of designs, colours and sizes
Concrete - natural stone - steel - wood - quartz - marble - decorative
5. A complete system
For every application
GeoCeramica® is available in various thicknesses (4/6/8 cm). We offer the right solution for every application. The thickness depends on the use and daily load. A nice feature is that the tile is also available in 1 cm. This means that the same tile can also be used indoors or on a gallery.
Stair treads and elements
To complement your GeoCeramica® terrace tiles, it is also possible to create stairs in the same finish. Or a refined swimming pool or pond edge.
In-lite ready
And if you want to enjoy your garden 24/7, then you should definitely opt for garden lighting! MBI works together with in-lite, so it is possible to order your tiles with pre-drilled recesses to ensure that the lighting is perfectly integrated.
6. Walking safety
A non-slip and safe surface
A tiled surface must be safe to walk on in various (weather) conditions. Global standards have been established for this purpose. This is indicated by an R value, which refers to tests. The values used range from 8 to 12. The higher the number, the more slip-resistant the surface. GeoCeramica® has a minimum slip resistance value of R11. There are even variants (Fiordi series) available in R12. R11 is also used as the standard for kitchens and wet areas such as showers and spas.
Because the ceramic tiles are produced exclusively for GeoCeramica®, we can also guarantee that the tiles meet the desired requirements. This applies not only to slip resistance but to all quality requirements.
7. Beautiful joints
Suitable for any type of grout
If you choose the best garden tile, you probably also choose it because of its ease of use. This also includes the right type of grout. GeoCeramica® can be used on any surface and is suitable for any type of matching grout. For long-lasting beautiful joints! Provided, of course, that you choose the right type of grout.
Weed-free joints
The current trend is for hard, water-permeable joints: resin-bonded or polymer joints. These are ideal for GeoCeramica® because this jointing compound adheres much better than it does to a full ceramic garden tile. This minimises the risk of bleeding or frost damage.
8. Easy processing
There is a wide range of tiles available, which can be divided into three categories: concrete, ceramic and natural stone. Each category has its own method of installation. Concrete (still) has the largest market share, partly because it is relatively easy to work with. Ceramic tiles are gaining ground on natural stone year after year due to their practical advantages. However, these tiles have the disadvantage of requiring labour-intensive, and therefore expensive, foundations. Ceramic tiles (2 and 3 cm) are also not suitable for every type of soil in The Netherlands. The combination of concrete and ceramic tiles is therefore the ideal solution!

9. Less processing risk
Better cutting and damage-free laying
When installing a terrace, you always have to take into account a percentage of cutting loss. The installer has an important role to play here. One of the disadvantages of ceramic is that it is difficult to cut. The thicker the ceramic, the more difficult this becomes. There is a high risk of damaged edges. GeoCeramica® is easier to cut than solid ceramic, especially with our special TileMaster saw blades. So you'll be doing your processor a favour too! Ceramic is extremely hard and very little can damage this material. However, there is a sensitive side to this garden tile, and that is the edges. If two tiles collide, there is a good chance that a piece will break off. This is a risk during installation. We have thought of this too. The integrated spacers ensure that the tiles cannot collide during installation and maintain the distance between the tiles after installation.
10. Easy maintenance
Developed in the Netherlands, for Dutch soil
It is not without reason that we refer to the Netherlands as “polder country”. A large part of our country is affected by subsidence. Would you want to use solid ceramic tiles that need to be laid on a fixed cement foundation? Probably not, as subsidence is almost unavoidable in some places. GeoCeramica® is easy to remove and re-lay. The long life of the top layer means you can enjoy your patio for years to come. Re-laying is not a cost factor!
