1. High-quality top layer
The best ceramics
With an emphasis on high-quality ceramics and fine porcelain, we go beyond mere geographical designations. This commitment to quality encompasses a set of universally recognised values, including craftsmanship, design leadership, innovation and sustainability. At MBI, we have made a conscious decision to work exclusively with leading manufacturers from around the world who uphold these values. This collaboration results in products that not only excel in functional properties, but also bear witness to eye-catching design.
2. Sustainably produced
Durable 10 mm top layer
Unique to GeoCeramica® is the 10mm ceramic top layer. 10mm requires less raw material than 20mm or 30mm ceramic. So much less raw material also needs to be moved by road.
Add to this the fact that thin ceramic tiles need to be heated for much less time to achieve their hardness. This reduces a huge amount in CO2 emissions.
Last but not least, compared to thicker ceramics, more volume can also be transported to the Netherlands in one container. This, too, minimises CO2 emissions from international transport.
Sustainable core concrete
The load-bearing core concrete - the Stabikorn® foundation - is made from a high percentage of renewable and circular raw materials. In addition, we use less packaging material and also provide employment in the Netherlands.
Produced entirely on wind energy
MBI has extensively greened its production process, so all our factories run on solar and wind energy from our own solar roofs and wind turbines.
3. For any surface
High load-bearing capacity, breaking load and stability
GeoCeramica® with a thickness of 40 mm has more than sufficient load-bearing capacity and breaking load for normal use as a terrace in front and back gardens. The big advantage is that this garden tile can actually be laid on a finished sand bed. The tiles lie stable in the sand and the integrated spacers protect them from friction and impact with each other. As an added advantage, this also allows them to lie well in connection and have no room to ‘run’. For a driveway, we recommend a thickness of 60 mm. Driving on and off the car usually also involves turning movements. With a tile that is too thin, the risk of pushing the tiles away is too great.

5. A total system
For every application
GeoCeramica® is available in different thicknesses (4/6/8cm). We offer the right solution for every application. The thickness depends on the use and daily load. Very nice is that the tile is also available in 1cm. This allows the same tile to be laid inside or on a gallery.
Steps and elements
Complementary to your GeoCeramica® terrace tiles, it is also possible to create a staircase in the same finish. Or a refined pool border or pond edge.
In-lite ready
And if you want to enjoy your garden 24/7, of course you should choose garden lighting! MBI works together with in-lite and it is therefore possible to order your tiles with pre-drilled cut-outs so that the lighting is perfectly integrated.
6. Walking Safety
A non-slip and safe surface
A tile surface must be safe to walk on under different (weather) conditions. There are worldwide standards for this. They are indicated by an R-value and refer to tests. The values used range from 8 to 12. The higher the number, the stiffer the surface. GeoCeramica® has a minimum roughness value of R11. There are even variants (Fiordi series) available in R12. R11 is also used as a standard for kitchens and wet areas such as showers and spas.
Because the ceramic tiles are produced exclusively for GeoCeramica® we can also guarantee that the tiles meet the desired requirements. By the way, this applies not only to skid resistance but to all quality requirements.
7. Beautiful grout
Suitable for any type of grout
If you choose the best garden tile, you probably also choose it because of its ease of use. This also includes the right type of grout. GeoCeramica® can be installed on any surface and is suitable for any type of grout. For long-lasting beautiful joints! Provided, of course, you choose the right type of grout.
Weed-free grouting
Today's trend is hard, permeable grouting. The resin-bonded or polymer grout. An ideal grout for GeoCeramica® because this grout adheres many times better than on a full ceramic garden tile. Chances of spalling or freezing out are therefore minimal.
8. Easy processing
The range of garden tiles is large and can be divided into the three denominators: concrete, ceramic and natural stone. Each category comes with its own processing method. Concrete (still) has the largest market share, partly because of its relatively easy processing method. Ceramic tiles have been gaining ground on natural stone year after year because of their utility advantages. However, these tiles have the disadvantage of requiring a labor-intensive, and therefore expensive, foundation.
Also, ceramic (2 and 3 cm) is not suitable for every type of soil in the Netherlands. So the combination between a concrete tile and ceramic is the ideal solution!
'An easy to lay ceramic outdoor tile'
9. Less processing risk
Better sawing and damage-free laying
With a terrace, you always have to take into account a percentage of sawing loss. The installer has an important task here. One of the disadvantages of ceramic is that it is difficult to saw. The thicker the ceramic the more difficult this becomes. With a high risk of damaged edges. GeoCeramica® is easier to saw than full ceramic. Especially with our special TileMaster saw blades. So you do your processor a favour too! Ceramic is rock hard and little can damage this material. There is a sensitive side to this garden tile, however, and that is the edges. If two tiles bump into each other, chances are that a piece will break off. This is a risk when laying it. We have thought of this too. The integrated spacers prevent the tiles from bumping into each other during laying and keep a distance between them after laying.
10. Simple aftercare
Developed in the Netherlands, for Dutch soil
We don't call the Netherlands ‘polder land’ for nothing. A large part of our country has to deal with subsidence. So do you want a full ceramic tile that you have to lay on a solid cement foundation? No way! After all, you almost cannot escape subsidence in some places. GeoCeramica® is easy to pick up and re-lay. Because the durability of the top layer means you can enjoy your terrace for years. Repaving once is not the expense!
