The Wijde Wellen is a special addition to the existing promenade. With breathtaking water views and a rich variety of water birds, the promenade provides an ideal place to walk, cycle or just enjoy the serene surroundings. Numerous seating areas have been created along the boardwalk where visitors can rest and enjoy the view. For dog owners, there is a special dog walking beach right next to the promenade. There is also a quiet beach for the elderly where they can relax and enjoy nature in peace.

User-friendly and unique character

De Wijde Wellen stands out for its user-friendly and unique character. The boardwalk features a large wooden decking that acts as a terrace, stage and meeting place. The seating along the waterfront is made of custom-made prefabricated elements from MBI. These elements are not only durable, strong and low-maintenance, but also perfectly integrated with the natural environment. Wood and natural stone are seamlessly interwoven with the precast structures, creating a harmonious whole.
