Conscious choices

Besides being beneficial for the family park, consideration was also given to the outdoor living environment and its climate-adaptive design. A little further from the car park, a water storage area was created to collect rainwater. This also prompted the decision to use water-passive paving.

Sustainable paving solutions

The municipality of The Hague opted for a combination of HerbaLinea and NCB clinkers that combines functionality and aesthetics. HerbaLinea is a paving solution available in two variants; H20 and flat. HerbaLinea H20 is a concrete paving stone with openings on one side. The open profile has as much as 22% open space for water infiltration and grass growth. HerbaLinea Flat is a closed version of the stone. Together, they form a stylish and climate-adaptive solution for this car park in The Hague, for example.

NCB clinkers also belong to our water-permeable paving and provide 42% (!) open space for water infiltration and grass growth. Both products and their various variants were played with. In the end, car park Drievliet added 1000 parking spaces! the use of open paving perfectly reflects the balance between grey (functionality) and green of the environment. In addition, virtually both types of stone can be executed in any colour.
