Joints are important, not only because of their aesthetic value, but also because of a number of undeniable functions:
- Stability of the paving: Joints provide extra stability, keeping your paving sturdy and durable.
- Compensating for size differences: Many paving materials are not 100% dimensionally stable. Joints help to compensate for size differences, so that the tiles remain perfectly in place.
- Protection against chipping: Joints protect the edges of tiles from chipping by absorbing shrinkage and expansion.
- Prevention of weeds: Filling joints with jointing compound significantly reduces the risk of weed growth. Our jointing compounds even have weed-inhibiting properties due to their special composition.
Processing advice for long-lasting weed-free paving
The correct processing method is essential for long-lasting weed-free paving. Ensure a joint of at least 2 mm (for GeoCeramica®, a minimum joint of 4 mm applies). For the best results, we recommend having the work carried out by a professional.
