Laying patterns for tight paving
Straight paving
Twill bond and elbow bond
Paving of rectangular concrete clinkers is often laid in bond. The main bond types are twill and elbow. The bond is important for the strength of the paving. It prevents movement of the concrete clinkers due to use or heavy traffic. Twill bond is preferably used on roadways. Car parks are often done in elbow bond. Half-brick bond is also sometimes used, but mostly in pedestrian zones.
Dimensional concrete clinkers
The advantage of concrete over baked clinkers is that concrete clinkers are very dimensionally stable and dimensionally stable, allowing very tight street work. Different dressings are also often combined, in different colours, to create a natural traffic flow.
Tiles in bond
Tiles can be laid in half-brick bond, block bond or diagonal bond.Half-brick bond is mostly used for pavements and cycle paths. With this bond, the tiles are always staggered by half a tile. As a result, the tiles lie much tighter and are therefore suitable for intensive use. Block bond is much less strong and is only used for ornamental paving.
