Zo de natuur in
DUIN is een plan vol contrasten; druk en rustig, beschut en in de wind, natuurlijk en stedelijk. In DUIN zijn veel dingen net wat anders dan normaal. Het is er niet zo aangeharkt, maar een tikje ruig. Dus geen saaie grijze stoeptegels, maar schelpenpaadjes, hoogteverschillen en slingerende woonstraten. Tevens loop je vanuit je woning zo de natuur in. DUIN betekent wonen op een duin, aan het strand en vlakbij Amsterdam.
Nieuwe ontwikkeling
MBI heeft samen met bureau Zus Rotterdam en de Gemeente Almere aan tafel gezeten om een projectsteen te ontwikkelen voor dit project. Uitgangspunten waren dat de materialen de kenmerken van het duingebied en de zee in zich moesten hebben. Om tot het definitieve ontwerp te komen zijn er diverse proefmonsters gemaakt op onze fabriek in Kampen met als eindresultaat een ‘waddensteen’ met als hoofdbestanddeel – hoe kan het ook anders – schelpen. Er zijn twee kleurtinten ontwikkeld die zullen worden ingezet voor de voetpaden, molgoten en de inritten. Voor het duin-park is gekozen voor een variant gebaseerd op het bestaande receptuur van GeoSenza Sabbia Mare uit onze collectie sierbestrating. Deze wordt uitgevoerd in een wild – en lineair verband. De eerste materialen voor het proefvak zijn inmiddels geleverd.

DUIN is een bijzondere ontwikkeling op een fantastische plek. Direct aan het IJmeer, met zicht op Amsterdam, wordt een uniek stuk stad gemaakt in een nieuw duinlandschap.
