The major renovation

A beautiful, simple garden in Nijmegen has undergone a complete transformation thanks to professional styling advice from an experienced stylist. This lucky couple won a competition organised by MBI, giving them the chance to completely transform their garden. When they bought their house, the garden was a veritable jungle of weeds and loose paving slabs. Clearing it up and tidying it was the first crucial step in their garden makeover.

Relaxing in the garden

During the renovation, several seating areas were created, both in the sun and in the shade. One seating area is situated against the house, whilst another cosy corner has been created between the shed and the fence, complete with a canopy. This intimate nook offers a spot where you can enjoy yourself all year round. GeoCeramica® Flow Black was chosen for the garden tiles. These ceramic outdoor tiles provide a calm and low-maintenance base. Thanks to the styling advice, the garden has become not only functional but also atmospheric, making it an inviting place to relax.

Green oases

Plenty of space has also been set aside for greenery in the garden. The borders have been created using GeoPlano stacking blocks and filled with a variety of plants that flower throughout the year. This means there is always greenery to be seen somewhere, which contributes to the garden’s lively atmosphere.

Professional styling advice

To give the garden extra character, a professional stylist provided styling advice to add the finishing touches. Using a mood board as a guide, the stylist sought out garden accessories from various shops, such as Loods5. She selected items such as new cushions, pots, additional plants and decorations for the interior of the canopy. These accessories add a personal touch, making the garden feel like a true extension of the home. The result: a garden with a ‘living room feel’.
