Green and acclaimed: the new sports complex of football club TSC
The new sports complex of football club TSC is located in a leafy, green area in Oosterhout. Due to a reorganisation, revitalisation of the pitches and the outdated status of the clubhouse and changing rooms, it became necessary to design a new clubhouse. Space for the new accommodation was created on a narrow strip between the main pitch and the auxiliary pitches.
Architectural splendour: monolithic masterpiece in Oosterhout
Due to its location, the building is elongated and oriented towards the nearby fields. The old grandstand, which fell into disuse as a result of the reorganisation of the fields, has been restored to its former glory by integrating it into the building design. In line with the grandstand is a raised square where the main entrance to the building is located. A monumental staircase leads to the roof terrace and the entrance to the (future) canteen. This roof terrace offers a magnificent view of the entire sports complex. The changing rooms are located on the ground floor and are accessed via a central corridor.
The building has a monolithic character due to the use of slender GeoStylistix concrete facing bricks. The bricks vary slightly in colour from light grey to dark grey, giving the plinth of the building a natural stone-like appearance with a lively character. The club's logo is integrated into this brickwork as a 3D object. Because the elongated facing brick is also used in the central corridor, the monolithic character of the plinth is reinforced.
