Een tuin die veel verschillende materialen en kleuren omvat, is een feest om te zien. In de Sliedrechtse tuin is gebruik gemaakt van tuinbestrating met de tijdloze uitstraling van beton. De betonlook is gecombineerd met een houten vlonder en split. Groen zorgt tot slot voor een levendige tuin en maakt het plaatje compleet. Een combinatie van tijdloze bestrating en levende materialen is in iedere tuin een aanrader!
Hoogteverschillen creëren
Hoogteverschillen in de tuin zorgen voor een ruimtelijke gevoel. In de Sliedrechtse tuin is er een ‘zitkuil’ gecreëerd met overkapping, waar men ook in de koude en donkere maanden kan genieten van de tuin. Het hoogteverschil wordt in eerste instantie opgevangen door traptreden. Deze trap maakt deel uit van van een looppad die de gehele tuin verbindt. Om het verschil tussen de verhoging en zitkuil verder mooi op te vangen, zijn muurelementen geplaatst.
Muurelementen als plantenbak of tuinafscheiding
Muurelementen zijn bij uitstek geschikt om hoogteverschillen op te vangen. In de Sliedrechtse tuin bekleden de muurelementen twee functies. Allereerst zorgen ze voor afscheiding tussen de verhoging en de zitkuil. Daarnaast fungeren de muurelementen ook als grote plantenbakken.
