Grenzend aan de grote, groene stadstuin, het stadspaviljoen en het DUO-gebouw in Groningen, is het bijzondere project Kempkensberg gebouwd. Het project bestaat uit 2 appartementsgebouwen met 36 koop- en 40 huurappartementen. Ontworpen door De Zwarte Hond in opdracht van Slokker Vastgoed, ontleent het project zijn naam aan de voormalige heuvel ten zuiden van de stad van Groningen. Het aardbevingsbestendige complex bestaat uit twee langgerekte alzijdige volumes van vijf bouwlagen, georiënteerd op het zuiden en gelegen op een gezamenlijke parkeergarage. Tussen de twee volumes ligt een centraal plein dat dienst doet als hoofdontsluiting en dat als een stedelijk balkon uitkijkt over het park. Dit plein is voorzien van GeoCeramica® tegels in de bijzondere kleur Irony, wat doet denken aan verweerd metaal.
Tegels die de aandacht opeisen
Grootformaat tegels zijn enorm populair in de private maar ook (semi-)openbare ruimte. Winkelcentra, pleinen en horecaterrassen worden steeds vaker ingericht met grootformaat tegels. Daarbij is GeoCeramica® een uitstekende keuze door de vele voordelen en mogelijkheden. De design mogelijkheden met keramiek zijn ontzettend groot. Bovendien is keramiek krasvast, slijtvast, kleurvast, vlek- en zuurbestendig. Het unieke GeoCeramica® concept is geschikt voor verschillende toepassingsgebieden, afhankelijk van de dikte. De tegels beginnen vanaf een dikte van 4cm wat geschikt is voor loopverkeer. Een categorie daarboven is de 2Drive uitvoering met 6cm dikte. Deze is ook geschikt voor lichte rijverkeer en is daarmee perfect voor bijvoorbeeld winkelcentra waar goederen met elektrische pompwagens worden vervoerd. Dan is er nog de Heavy Duty variant met een dikte van 8cm. Speciaal ontwikkeld voor de openbare ruimte, heeft de Heavy Duty een extra stroef oppervlak (R12) tegen uitglijden en een grotere belastbaarheid. Op aanvraag verkrijgbaar in alle designs.
