Bijzondere wandelpromenade
De bijzondere boulevard van Harderwijk wordt al de mooiste boulevard van Nederland genoemd. Daar is recentelijk een prachtige wandelpromenade aan toegevoegd: De Wijde Wellen. De Wijde Wellen is meer dan alleen een wandelpad langs het water van het Wolderwijd. De unieke combinatie van water, geschiedenis, architectuur, creativiteit en de input van bewoners maken deze promenade zo bijzonder. Je kunt hier lekker wandelen, fietsen, uitrusten op één van de vele zitplekken met uitzicht op het water en de vele watervogels. Hondenbezitters kunnen gebruik maken van het speciale hondenuitlaatstrandje dat direct aan het wandelpad is gelegen. Ook voor ouderen is er een speciaal strandje gecreëerd waar zij in alle rust van het uitzicht en de natuur kunnen genieten. De promenade staat in directe verbinding met het boulevard.
Gebruiksvriendelijk karakter
De promenade heeft een gebruiksvriendelijk en uniek karakter. Hier is een onder andere een grote houten vlonder gerealiseerd die dient als terras, podium en ontmoetingsplaats. Langs het water op de gehele promenade zijn zitplekken gecreëerd met maatwerk prefab elementen van MBI. Prefab is duurzaam, sterk en onderhoudsarm. Doordat het maatwerk is, zijn de mogelijkheden zeer uitgebreid. Zo is er voor De Wijde Wellen gekeken naar elementen die passen bij het karakter van de omgeving en andere natuurelementen. Hout en natuursteen zijn prachtig verweven met de prefab elementen. De elementen zijn daarnaast zeer breed toepasbaar.
