Het Hof van Duurzaamheid in Amersfoort is hier een mooi voorbeeld van. Van ontwerp tot aan materialisatie stond duurzaamheid in dit project centraal.

MBI voorziet Hof van Duurzaamheid in klimaatadaptieve buitenruimte
De opkomst van ‘groene’ buurten laat zien dat we met natuurinclusiviteit en klimaatadaptieve oplossingen hedendaagse problemen zoals wateroverlast en hittestress kunnen aanpakken. Het Hof van Duurzaamheid in Amersfoort is hier een mooi voorbeeld van. Van ontwerp tot aan materialisatie stond duurzaamheid in dit project centraal.
Innovatief en duurzaam bouwen
Vastgoedontwikkelaar Schipper Bosch uit Amersfoort gaf architectenbureau Le Far West en Studio Nauta de opdracht een bijzondere buurt te ontwikkelen waarbij veel aandacht is voor duurzaamheid en natuurinclusiviteit aan de Rondweg-Noord te Amersfoort. Het ‘Hof van Duurzaamheid’ zou een wijk worden voor een mix van doelgroepen waarbij architectuur en buitenruimte integraal zijn vormgegeven met doorlopende groenstructuren.
Het ontwerp is ontstaan uit de gedachte dat de natuur onbegrensd is. Door het plangebied te behandelen als onbegrensd landschap, zagen Le Far West en Studio Nauta alles als potentieel leefgebied voor mens, plant en dier. Daarbij werd elk oppervlak in acht genomen. Het Hof bestaat dan ook uit regentuinen, natuurlijke ‘grenzen’ tussen openbare en private ruimte, wadi’s en open bestrating.
Natuurlijke en klimaatadaptieve materialen
Voor de materialisatie van het Hof is gekozen om te werken met natuurlijke en klimaatadaptieve oplossingen. De architectuur bestaat uit innovatieve houtbouw. Voor de inrichting van de buitenruimte was bestandheid tegen wateroverlast, hittestress en droogte een belangrijk uitgangspunt. Dus waren de architecten op zoek naar een partner die kon voldoen aan het klimaatadaptieve programma. Via civieltechnisch bureau Linkciviel kwamen ze terecht bij MBI De Steenmeesters.
In de openbare ruimte is de waterpasserende steen ‘Herba Linea’ met 22% open ruimte verwerkt. Door te spelen met verbanden tussen open en dichte bestrating zijn speelse patronen ontstaan in het straatbeeld. Met deze patronen kon wandel-, fiets- en autoverkeer gecombineerd worden en werd de traditionele stoep overbodig. Daarnaast helpt de bestrating plasvorming voorkomen. Hemelwater kan via de waterpasserende bestrating vertraagd infiltreren in de ondergrond. Om het bergend vermogen te verhogen in de ondergrond is gebruikt gemaakt van porodur lavasteen en moräne split van HB Grondstoffen. Overtollig water bij piekbuien wordt verder opgevangen door weg te lopen via passagebanden en regentuinen naar wadi’s. Met als resultaat een betere leefbaarheid van de wijk.
