Aan de Violenstraat in Groningen staat is een nieuwe sporthal gerealiseerd door Brandsbouw te Emmen. Het vooruitstrevende ontwerp komt van Architecten bureau Marlies Rohmer.

Binnenmuursteen Brixx

Voor de sporthal in Groningen is gekozen voor een metselsteen die perfect functioneert als binnenmuursteen: Brixx. De steen is zeer geschikt voor gebruiksintensieve ruimtes vanwege haar hoge druksterkte, geluidsisolerende of -absorberende eigenschappen en uitstekende brandwerendheid. Deze binnenmuursteen heeft verder de eigenschappen:

Geschikt voor tweezijdig schoonwerk
Groot scala aan vormstenen in dezelfde kleur
Ingebouwde duimgat voor makkelijkere verwerking

Akoestiek verbeteren

Voor gebruiksintensieve ruimtes is het zeer van belang dat de binnenmuurstenen sterk zijn. Daarnaast is het erg belangrijk dat er rekening wordt gehouden met de akoestiek in de ruimte. In een sporthal wordt veel geluid geproduceerd, waarbij meestal meerdere ruimtes tegelijk in gebruik zijn. Om overlast te minimaliseren is in dit geval gekozen voor een structuur uitvoering van de Brixx. De ‘poriën’ in de steen zorgen voor een geluidsabsorberende muur, wat betekent dat het geluid (voor een deel) wordt opgenomen door het materiaal en niet weerkaatst. Dit vermindert vervelende galm of echo in de ruimte. Lees meer over geluidsabsorberende stenen.
