Van vakantiehuis naar woonhuis
De bouwheren van deze moderne kustvilla in Koksijde (BE) wilden een vakantiewoning om regelmatig te ontsnappen aan de drukte van Brussel. Omdat het resultaat zo beviel hebben ze er hun vaste woonplek van gemaakt. Architect Emile Dejonghe wist een sterk ruimtegevoel op te wekken in een compact perceel. De kustvilla heeft een interieur met vakantiesfeer en veel open ruimte en natuurlijk lichtinval. De bouwheren hielden wel van de gezellige interieurs die zo typerend zijn voor de woningen van Mi Casa. Voor het exterieur kozen ze echter bewust voor een strakkere look met de betonnen gevelstenen van MBI.
Strak exterieur met sterk ruimtegevoel
Dejonghe hanteert een strakke ontwerp met duidelijke lijnen en vlakken en combineert dit met veel aandacht voor materialisatie. Dit geldt ook zeker voor de gevel met een strak en modern lijnenspel. Het massieve houtbouwsysteem van de kustvilla is bekleed met de lange, slanke gevelsteen GeoStylistix. De slanke gevelsteen is in wildverband verwerkt. In combinatie met het verticale houten lattenwerk in afrormosia heeft Dejonghe een boeiend en rustgevend lijnenspel gecreëerd. In het lattenwerk zitten ook de voordeur en garagedeur ‘verborgen’. Dankzij de teruggetrokken gevel met grote raampartijen is de villa in de beleving ruimer dan ze in werkelijkheid is. Het eindresultaat is een karaktervolle architectuur die langdurig mooi zal blijven.
