Gator is a high-quality product from the Alliance group from Canada, which stands for quality worldwide. A specialist in grout. Gator recently flew over to the Netherlands. Thanks to the collaboration between Gator and MBI, these high-quality grouts are widely available in the Netherlands through MBI dealers.

Gator XP G2

A semi-hard joint based on polymers with a short processing and drying time. The polymeric binder is transparent, so no more “cement traces” on your pavement! This grout can already be used with joints of 2 mm and is permanently permeable to water, perfect for permeable substrates. When it is dry, the joint is firm. If the joint becomes wet, it repairs itself again, making it suitable for softer surfaces. This grout is often used with baked clinkers, but is also suitable for concrete stones, natural stones, cobblestones and GeoCeramica®. Gator XP G2 comes in 4 colours: anthracite, black, beige and ivory.

GatorTile

A water-tight polymer joint. Due to the very fine gradation (grain), it can be used with narrow joints up to 25 mm. It can be used on both water-permeable and closed surfaces. Once the grout has been applied, it forms a firm joint while retaining flexibility. Very suitable for ceramic tiles, but also for swimming pool decks and patios.

The three largest branch organisations in the Dutch cement and concrete industry have been merged under the name: Betonhuis. Formerly know as BFBN (Associatoin of Manufacturers of Concrete Products in the Netherlands), C&BC (Cement & Concrete Center) and VOBN (Association of Enterprises of Concrete Mortar Manufacturers in the Netherlands).

The cement industry, concrete manufacturers and concrete plants affiliated with betonhuis are spread throughout the country. Early involvement of professionals from the affiliated companies helps process improvement (reduction of failure costs), optimisation of human deployment at the construction site, optimisation of logistics and the achievement of sustainability objectives.

MBI is a member of Bouw Circulair, formerly Netwerk Betonketen. BouwCirculair strives for sustainable materials in construction projects, by reducing CO2 and using circular raw materials. We work transparently on the spearheads that the members jointly put on the agenda. The movement is focused on doing.

Hovenier Helpt is an initiative for the gardener industry and strives for the following: Creating support and surprises for Dutch people in need by (in one week) tackling public and private greenery with the help of professional gardeners. MBI supports the action financially as well as providing pavement.

Why is it?

Hovenier Helpt was set up to make the Netherlands greener, but also to help people. In the last week of September we want to show how important it is that attention is paid to all Dutch people. Every bit of effort gives Hovenier Helpt an extra special touch.

How does it work?

Hovenier Helpt must receive all projects before 1st of September. A week before Hovenier Helpt starts, it will be announced whether your project is part of the selection. Do you know someone in your area who could use some help with their garden? Register your project before the week of “Hovenier Helpt” and keep an eye on the website! The job must be completed in one day by a volunteer gardener.

These ensure optimal pressure distribution and drainage to the ground on your terrace. Compared to a traditional system, with OXXOBASE you will save a lot of money on material and labour. Assembly is so easy that you could even do it yourself. No heavy machinery is required.

OXXOBASE is very suitable for (self) laying your ceramic tiles.
These panels are ideal for laying ceramic tiles, but they are also suitable for concrete tiles. OXXOBASE panels can be used for various applications, such as terraces, walkways, patios, swimming pools, etc. However, it is less suitable for heavy load applications, such as driveways.

The power of silence in construction chronicle 2017

“Prevention is better than cure,” said the CEO at Soundless Acoustics International, a partner of MBI BV, in an article by the leading magazine; the Construction Chronicle.

Because more and more scientific studies show that the acoustic climate within a room has an impact on our well-being and disease recovery. The consequences of poor sound absorption are often not immediately noticeable. It is too common that it is only after the completion of a building that it becomes clear that the acoustics are not sufficient. However, the options are limited and the costs much higher.

It is not without reason that Soundless Acoustics has been advocating better acoustics in schools and hospitals, for example. When the reverberation of a room is so high and unpleasant, it causes, for example, poor intelligibility, concentration problems and fatigue … all factors that are crucial for schools or office buildings!

All leading Dutch manufacturers of concrete masonry products (bricks and blocks) are affiliated with ‘BFBN’, the Concrete Manufacturers of Building Blocks and Bricks Foundation. As a sector, BFBN is a member of both the board and the technical committee of the ‘Stapelbouw’ Foundation. The aim of this foundation is to conduct scientific research into the behaviour of masonry of concrete stone, brick, sand-lime brick and aerated concrete. In addition, BFBN is represented in the NEN standard committee TGB ‘Steenconstructies’.

The active association of paving manufacturers has 21 members, making it one of the larger associations in the BFBN context. Due to their enormous variety with many natural treatments, coatings and colour variations, paving products can respond well to the trends towards the use of more luxurious materials in addition to serving the traditional market. Areas of application are roads, boulevards, shopping centers, sidewalks, squares, parks and industrial sites. A strong emerging market is the application of colourful pavements in gardens.

Baked paving is timeless and fits in every garden. It is incredibly versatile. A whole terrace, a path or a beautiful lining along your terrace. You can create many styles with it. Wienerberger is one of the largest producers of clinkers. The raw material is sustainable and is extracted from Dutch floodplain clay. MBI and Wienerberger have been working together in the garden industry for many years.

Willco Products stands for 40+ years of experience in insulation systems. As the first Belgian supplier of wall cladding, they work every day on optimising wall cladding and developing innovative insulation systems.

Willco Etics System

Willco Products developed the Etics system as a total solution for both insulating and renovating facades. This system allows quick installation and gives a beautiful and durable result. How does the system work? The system does not require foundation work on the existing home. First, the insulation plates are glued to the substrate. Then a reinforcement layer with a glass fiber is incorporated. In addition, there is a mechanical fastening with plugs. These steps strengthen the system. After the reinforcement layer has dried, the wall cladding is glued using the appropriate technique.

Thanks to intensive cooperation, MBI’s wall cladding is easy to obtain and install in Belgium. Willco is not only a sales partner, but also installs the GeoStylistix wall cladding in Belgium according to the Etics System.
