Family business since 1945
In over three quarters of a century, MBI has grown into a multidisciplinary company. Active in the Construction, Infra and Garden sectors. The stable foundation is and remains our Steenmeestership; our knowledge of concrete. A solid foundation was laid in 1945 with five core values that remain guiding principles to this day: ownership, inventiveness, eye for detail, team spirit and eagerness to learn.
Together we make the difference
With a wink, we sometimes say that our employees have blue-yellow blood. We are particularly proud of our Steenmeester because the level of commitment is very high. This benefits the quality of our beautiful products that we produce in our four factories. Basically, we only work with the highest-quality materials and production techniques, but our Steenmeesters make the real difference. In the production process but also in our services. Products can be copied but people cannot. Always wanting to achieve the highest possible, for ourselves but also for the customer. Together, we make the difference!
Our people
When we talk about our people, it's about our Stone Masters. With an eye for detail, eager to learn but above all with a team player mentality. This applies to the relationships among ourselves but also towards our customers. Together with our people, we think in terms of possibilities, putting our customer's interests first. That may sound cliché, but come and experience it for yourself!
A family business really does have a different culture. No matter how big we are, we always put people first. You notice that as an employee but also as a customer, supplier and even transporter. Working with MBI is not just for a short while, it is for life! Forty years of service is quite normal at MBI. Of course, we are proud of that!
Factories
Our production plants are located in Kampen, Aalst and Nieuw-Lekkerland. Each factory has a specialism. For instance, in Veghel we mainly make concrete paving stones, in Kampen our wide collection of garden tiles, in Aalst not only tiles and stones but also many concrete tyres, and in Nieuw-Lekkerland our product hero GeoCeramica®.
Sustainable production
Sustainability covers a broad spectrum. Here, MBI looks at raw materials, product composition, energy requirements and service life. Our policy is to produce concrete in the most sustainable way possible with raw materials that ensure sustainability not only now but also in the long term. Read more in our sustainability magazine.

Working, Roads, Shopping, Living, Well-being
Our mission is to create beautiful, comfortable and sustainable outdoor living environments together with our partners. In doing so, our playing field focuses on all areas of use of outdoor space; working, roads, shopping, living and well-being. This means nothing other than that we like to think along in the design of our living environment. In doing so, we look for the best use of paving and façade solutions in the broad sense of the word. You can come to us for advice at all stages of a project: initiative and concept, design, materialisation, technical preparation and processing advice. We have combined this idea and working method in our 5W concept.
Facade systems and interior walls
MBI produces facing bricks for interior and exterior, for dirt, visible and non-visible masonry. In many colors, formats and with various textures and profiling. In addition to its extensive range, MBI offers architects and clients the opportunity to design their own facing brick. In short, MBI helps you build beautiful, challenging and functional facades.
Paving materials for public spaces
The street largely determines the atmosphere of our built environment. In addition to aesthetic values, practical requirements are also important. Stones must be resistant to weather and wind, but can also provide safety or handle heavy loads. MBI converts its extensive experience into a wide range of paving stones, tiles, tires and elements that combine atmosphere with functionality and durability.
Complete range of ornamental paving
The garden as a second living room. There is no room for atmosphere-less square meters. MBI offers beautiful solutions in ornamental paving with which the optimal balance between greenery, home and garden can be realized. Through our national dealer network, we offer a wide selection of other brands in addition to our own stones, tiles and tires. MBI wants to contribute to an optimal garden experience where durability and quality are paramount.
Our origins are in Eindhoven
Since 1945
On February 22, 1945, Mr. A.J. (Anton) van der Meijden founded MBI Beton. The first years the production took place with 5 employees. The product range consisted mainly of concrete piles and slabs, and of course the widely used concrete blocks. Soon facing bricks and also concrete clinkers were added to the assortment. MBI grew steadily into a large concrete factory and investments in new plants were not shunned either.
Scaling up
A big step was made in 2011, when Holcim Beton and MBI joined forces. In one fell swoop, MBI became the largest manufacturer of unreinforced concrete products in the Netherlands. Holcim held a minority stake in the company from 2011 to 2017. In 2017, MBI reached an agreement with Holcim to take over its share. With this acquisition, MBI came back fully owned by the Van der Meijden family. And we are proud of that.
The name MBI
The name MBI is an abbreviation of “Van der Meijden Beton Industrie.” The M of Van der Meijden says it all about MBI's DNA. We are a real family business. Despite the fact that the family is not involved in day-to-day management, all major decisions are made together with the family.
